Papershoot.
Hands down the best thing I’ve bought. I’f you’re reading this now please stop and head to paper shoot.com because your life is about to change.
I love taking photos, and I think k maybe always have, sometimes they were just not that good. And that’s okay because everything is a learning process right? When I was in school I used to put off revision by doing torch lit shoots of my eye pressed against a stool, my lips warped with bubble wrap and cling film, and my fingers pressed flush to my face. I liked the control of the lens, and the images produced were glossy and rendered in colour. It was a very amateur set up, but an experience. Skip on and I have my own chunky camera, which I love but prefer for events photography as it’s rather bulky and shoots dark images. It’s a gorgeous camera but I have a tendency to forget it, which is not a favourable habit when it’s expensive and I tend to move around a lot. So far sed camera has been left in a shower block on a remote campsite, a staff kitchen and a Berlin bound train. Whoops.
I desperately yearn for a camera which is portable but fun, good images and easy to use. I love a disposable camera but they are costly and also there is no guarantee when you’ve paid so much, how the film will actually turn out and if any pictures will be useable. I thought about getting a digital film camera, where you can choose before printing them. But when you think about it you are getting a sub par printer and below average camera just rolled into one for a costly price, so why would I do that. Set in the papershoot.
I can’t lie I came across it on tik tok and it seemed to good to be true. It seemed too easy to use, and simple in just having the photos taken by a circuit board in a paper case. I thought the assembly may be beyond my capability, was very wrong I can manage some screws, and that it would break, my case is going three months strong. I like the battered look it shows it’s used.
But I did buy it. And wow. I’m blown away a) by the picture quality and b) the ease at which is snaps. Yes I have been compared to a child with a kidizoom camera for the noise it makes, but do I have shame, no. It fits in my pocket, sports bra, travel case, hand bag. You can literally take pictures anywhere and the fun part is you have no clue what they look like till you’re home.
People will ask questions so you better like to chat, the oh my god I saw that on tik tok too will crop up alot! This is not sponsored but any discount would be greatly welcomed btw papershoot. The only embarrassment on my part with the camera was asking the brand to follow me back, and I didn’t follow them. I hope they don’t mind because I tell a lot of people to follow them. If you’re not after a great quality pocket size camera then keep scrolling, this fills my dose of snap happy serotonin on the daily.
